Torsten Brose, from Magenta, Joins Panel of Experts at ProDriver Congress

London, 30 June 2016: Industry technology expert Torsten Brose is to join a panel of experts presenting and debating the future of the private hire and chauffeur industry. Taking part in the one-day ProDriver Congress, Brose will offer a fresh insight into how the latest technology – such as Magenta’s highly advanced auto-allocation software – can help operators compete and combat the growing threat of Transport Network Companies (TNCs) like Uber. Brose, who recently joined Magenta Technology as Echo Business Development Director, will sit alongside senior spokespeople from operators such as Addison Lee and Veezu, as well as Karhoo, an industry aggregator.

“It could be said that companies like Uber have a monopoly on technology, but that simply isn’t the case,” commented Brose. “Solutions like Magenta’s Echo offering, with its auto allocation element, customisable mobile apps, business intelligence systems and third party integrations, give operators a significant advantage when combined with more traditional USPs such as service, value and security.”

Conference themes at the ProDriver Congress will feature: ‘Strategies to combat Uber’ including consolidation and larger fleets; ‘New rules, new mayor – is Transport for London giving the deserved regulation?’ including protection for Black Cabs; and the ‘Zero-Emissions Capability and Heathrow Airport’ including the role of the private hire sector in delivering high value customers to the airport. The session featuring Brose, ‘Harnessing technology to compete with Uber’, will focus on how apps, integrated booking systems, aggregators and comparison services can help operators compete and level the playing field.

The ProDriver Congress London takes place on July 19, 2016 at Heathrow Renaissance Hotel. The one-day conference – aimed at bringing into focus the threats and opportunities that face private hire and chauffeur operators – is free to attend for licensed operators, and includes a full day conference programme as well as refreshments and parking for registered delegates.
