Trident Niven - Case study
Trident Niven is a London-based private hire company, which owns a fleet of 100 unbranded executive vehicles for corporate customers. It has chosen Echo Private Hire and Taxi Dispatch Software by Magenta Technology to achieve its business goals. After migration to Echo system, they immediately benefitted from Echo’s outstanding automatic allocation and real-time vehicle tracking features with seamless communication with customers and drivers. Enabling corporate accounts to use Echo’s web booking portal and mobile application customer experience has improved.
After joining Transdev’s portfolio of businesses in 2012 Trident Niven became a sister-company to greentomatocars who already used Magenta’s Echo end-to-end operational platform for minicab and private hire companies. Trident Niven quickly realised all the benefits of a new system and efficiencies their business get from it and migrated from its previous solution to Echo.
The Managing Director at Trident Niven, Thomas Gilder, said: “Compared to our previous system, communication traffic between our coordinators and drivers has reduced by 50-60% which has had a massive positive impact on our efficiency. The booking web portal and mobile apps have helped attract new customers from the marketplace. Highly configurable notifications and alerts helped us create and apply rules to match specific corporate account requirements. This customisation has set us apart and is helping us increase corporate customer trust in our brand and service. On the operations side, the availability of detailed audit logs and vehicle tracking reports has made the business more transparent to us. This is important to Trident Niven: every edge we gain from past information helps us gain ground in an extremely competitive market.”
With the earlier system, nearly 13% of business was fielded off to other service providers which, moreoften than not, resulted in negligible margins or loss. Today, Trident Niven is experiencing thehappybenefit of being able to re-direct spill over business and keep it within the Transdev group resulting in a tangible net gain. Significant business has also been generated by the Transdev customers who now enjoy the choice of different service types, including the premium Black Car Service.
“Echo enables us to deliver a better level of service to corporate customers who have higher service expectations. Punctuality in service is the most critical factor in transportation-on-demand and having a system that does a lot of our ‘legwork’ enables us to deliver an on-time service and focus on the delivery of a quality service,” added Thomas Gilder.
Matthew Borland, Sales Director at Magenta, says, “Echo enables companies to offer customised service to the lucrative corporate market that meets the levels of service expectations. Echo’s driver-centric features are designed to attract drivers for its transparency in real-time business and earnings information.Magenta’s Echo platform is positioned perfectly to help customers replace older systems with our automatic allocation and real–time tracking technologies to better manage operations and business goals.”
Magenta’s support and input made the transition from our previous solution a remarkably smooth and straightforward experience. Echo’s flexibility and ease of implementation became even more evident when we added our new Black Car Service business to it in May 2014. Thanks to the technology that currently drives the fleets of Transdev’s London trio of companies, both Trident Niven and Black Car Service can offer quicker response times coupled with a personal, customer-focused approach.
