Echo taxi dispatch for eConnect

London, 06 October 2016: eConnect Cars is improving the safety of passengers with the provision of detailed booking confirmation and contact facilities. Using the cloud-based Echo dispatch platform from Magenta Technology, eConnect Cars can easily share the vehicle registration mark, driver’s name and private hire licence number, and even a picture of the booked driver. This information is available to passengers, prior to the start of the journey, by email, text and phone.

eConnect Cars is also using Echo to provide passengers with contact details for their operating centre in case of problems during or after their journey. Part of newly introduced legislation from Transport for London (TfL), these initiatives are designed to improve passenger safety and raise service levels in the ultra-competitive London private hire and taxi market.

“Using Echo, we were already virtually compliant with the new regulations – even before they came into effect,” commented Ken James, Transport Operations Manager at eConnect Cars. “However, the latest version of Echo raises our passenger safety and service levels even higher. We can now share with customers, at the touch of a button, details of the driver and vehicle, including photographs, via their smartphone or other Internet enabled device. This not only gives our passengers confidence in our service, but also allows them to share details of their journey with concerned relatives or friends.”

The Echo cloud based private hire and taxi dispatch platform already provided a number of features that helped operators comply with the new TfL regulations, including the provision of booking confirmations and contact facilities, accurate fare estimates and essential record keeping. Additional functionality offered by the Echo platform includes: an advanced Call Module, including caller identification, call history management and call monitoring, with call playbacks automatically attached to bookings; a Customer Web Booking Portal; a newly enhanced Customer Booking App; Dynamic Delays for the automatic calculation of response time; Flight Lookup and Validation; and integration with third party systems – all essential tools for customer safety and first class service.
